Membership

Membership in the forum shall be open to mediators who are certified in Bangladesh or Nepal, or who have equivalent qualifications and experience. Membership shall be granted upon application and approval by the BNMF Board of Directors. The membership of this organization has been classified into four categories as follows: General Member: Mediator who received membership of this organization meeting qualification mentioned in Article 8 of this constitution and followed defined application process for membership, shall be the general member of this organization. Founder Member: The members involved in development of this organization shall be the founder members. Life Time Member: People who have special contribution in organization development can be provided with lifelong membership following defined procedure. Honorary Member: Honorary membership shall be given to notable social worker and recognized citizens considered appropriate but these members shall not have right to vote. To become a member of this organization, a person shall have following qualifications. Citizen of Nepal or Bangladesh. Attained 25 years of age. Have taken at least 40 hours of training. Accredited Mediator by Mediation Council of Nepal or Bangladesh International Mediation Society or from other certified institution. Not convicted by a court in a criminal charge involving moral turpitude. Not be mentally unstable. Not convicted for embezzling the public property. Not disqualified by any law. The general membership can be provided to those people who have applied for the membership following the provisioned procedure paying 500 Bangladeshi Taka or 500 NPR as an entry charge and 200 Bangladeshi Taka or 200 NPR as an annual charge; the decision to provide membership shall be with the executive committee. Such members shall renew their membership each year by paying 100 Bangladeshi Taka or 100 NPR by the end of the fiscal year. The Lifetime membership can be provided by a decision from the executive committee to those who have applied following the provisioned procedure paying 2000 Bangladeshi Taka or 2000 NPR. Membership decisions will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, age, medical condition, ancestry, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or status. All members are required to demonstrate support for the purpose of this organization;
